Jacob Benda completed his dissertation on Clarence Mader and has made it available here. This monograph entitled, "The Stylistic Variance and Underlying Unity in Selected Organ Works by Clarence Mader," presents valuable and interesting information about Mader's life and work.

About the Author

Appointed in February 2022 as the Organ Area Professor and Director of Sacred Music, Liturgy & Sacred Arts at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jacob Benda is an active recitalist, published author, editor, and organ consultant. Former Dean of the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, he serves as the President of the Ruth and Clarence Mader Memorial Scholarship Fund based in Los Angeles. In 2015, he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Louisiana State University under the mentorship of Professor Herndon Spillman, protégé of Maurice Duruflé. He is currently represented by Seven Eight Artists.
